The Knights of Malta, 14/19 Casa Magazzini, Magazines Str Mdina, Malta
The Order of St. John of Jerusalem, also known as the Knights of Malta, have left a very significant visual stamp on the island of Malta. From the fortifications of our current capital Valletta, the medieval capital Mdina and numerous other architectural gems, it is impossible to overstate their significance in Malta’s history. Their legacy prevailed amongst the Maltese cultural, religious and civic ways for centuries.
The Knights of Malta cultural attraction is a tribute to this brave religious order. Over one hundred life size figures depict the life and times of the knights which culminates into the Great Siege. Dramatic lighting, sound effects and reminiscent smells greatly add to the experience which can be enjoyed in a simultaneous digital five-language commentary.
The attraction is situated in the original gunpowder vaults in the battlements of Mdina. A number of evocative linked chambers set the mood for this historic exhibition.
