Rampila Restaurant – St. John’s Cavalier, Valletta, Malta
Rampila is the latest venture of one of Valletta’s best known restaurateurs. Local Valletta Madame Marvic Zarb who has made such a success out of D’Office Wine Bar and Restaurant in Archbishop Street has now set her sights and attentions on Rampila.
Marvic and her team are dedicated at bringing clients the best possible meals in fine cuisine and wines in this remarkable and unique location. With a Mediterranean foundation to the kitchen the chefs add both international flavors and a uniquely Maltese twist to the dishes offered. Plates such as the Prime New Zealand Fillet topped with Maltese Sausage and Brie or the Stuffed Quail, the Braised Rabbit and the Gozo Cheese in Filo Pastry would be examples of the delights the menu presents.
For those who are after a quiet evening out over a bottle of wine, a selection of innovative and generous platters and wine-bar nibbles are also available and are complemented by a lovely selection of local and international wines that are extremely reasonably priced.
As for the ambience, Rampila offers a truly unique atmosphere both whether you choose to dine indoors or outside. The terrace, literally nested in between the bastions, it is spectacular on balmy evenings and sunny afternoons and is definitely the only location of its kind in Malta.
